
In addition to the area for exhibitors, Equip Food & Drinks also includes the Gastronomic Arena to serve visitors who are directly or indirectly linked to the sector: to inform, develop, foster and convey culture through dynamic activities that have a variety of focuses. In its last edition, Food and Balance was the central theme of the Gastronomic Arena, with the objective of associating the importance of food for health and the pleasure of eating with sustainability in its social-environmental and economic aspects.
There will be eight different spaces incorporating the following activities in 2008:
Main stage with kitchens for demonstration classes with renowned national and international chefs.
Ludek Prochazka and chef Charlie, from Carving Studio Brasil, demonstrate sculpting techniques with vegetables and fruits.
A bar model with renowned bartenders delivering performances, as well as giving tips and offering food tasting to visitors.
Various seminars covering management and operational topics on professional cuisine conducted by experts in the food and hospitality industries for hotel, restaurant and bar professionals.
Special room for workshops and food tasting hosted by specialists in cheese, olive oils, wines, cashew nuts, white rums, cigars and sweets, among others.
Under the supervision of cuisine critic Josimar Melo, journalists, media directors, university students, businessmen and leaders explore A to Z topics linked to the sector.
2nd Brazilian Afro-Cuisine Exhibition
The event is held to highlight the importance of African descendants in tourism and cuisine in Brazil, offering food tasting of delicacies and traditional Afro-Brazilian meals, in addition to exotic drinks.
Sao Paulo’s stage of the Brazilian Coffee Maker Contest held by ACBB with presentations and choice of a regional representative for the Brazilian final contest.
